MCA-I Madison Chapter Past Programs/Meetings:

Summer Party

The MCA-I summer party was a blast on a Betty Lou Cruise! It proved to be a great chance to network and catch up with old friends while overlooking sights like the Governor's mansion, State Capitol, UW Campus and many gorgeous lakefront estates. Don Sanford, a previous MCA-I member served as our captain for the trip. The cruise finished with a spectacular sunset!

When: Thursday, July 17th, 6:00 - 8:30 pm

Where: Casted off from Mariner's Inn - 5339 Lighthouse Bay Drive, Madison, WI

  Spring Seminar

MCA-I Madison hosted an interactive webcast for its May seminar! This live webcast was also available On Demand to MCA-I members around the world after the program.

Multi-Media Content - Fair Use, Faces and Licensing

Beth Russell from Russell Law will discuss fair use; we'll survey the different types of licenses required when fair use is not available; and we'll touch briefly on the legal implications of using people's names and images.

Webcasting - Benefits and Best Practices
Webcasting has been around for several years and yet the benefits and the production value of webcasts rarely reach their full potential.  Most organizations already have great AV and IT departments, but in order to leverage the benefits to webcasting, everyone must understand the applications, the solutions and what's required to produce a great event. Sonic Foundry will begin the session by briefly defining the webcast space, position webcasting among complementary technologies such as video conference and web-conferencing, and conclude by detailing the requirements and expertise needed for executing a successful webcast.

June Summer Party

On Thursday, June 14, 2007 MCA-I Madison went out to see the Madison Mallard's ball game. Unfortunately, we left our good luck charms at home and the Mallards lost to the Green Bay Bullfrogs. However, since we're MCA-I Madison members, we had a great time ...food, beverages and good company. What more did we need?

APRIL 17, 2007 Monthly Meeting

With changing technologies we have to adjust to how we accomplish our tasks.  With the advent of HD technology, on-camera talent needs to be "made-up" differently.  No more "sponging".

Kent Steine owns KS Pinup Enterprises and is a Pinup and Glamour Artist.  He has written books and magazine articles and is an instructor at Madison Media Institute.

Eric Coffman is the President and CEO of Graftobian, a business began many years ago by his father with offices in New York, L.A. as well as Madison.  Eric's craft is Glamour and Theatrical Make up Artist.

FEBRUARY 20, 2007 Monthly Meeting

MCA-I Madison is in the learning mode so we'll head out to MATC, the Truax campus, on Tuesday, February 20th. Socializing will begin at 5:30 with the topic starting at 6:00. Our presenter is Christopher Shy, a professional artist and owner of Studio Ronin. Chris is a local artist who is starting to make a huge impact both in the comic world and in film. Chris is the artist for the graphic novel, "Silent Leave," but his talents will be seen more widely in 2007 in the new film "Pathfinder," starring Karl Urban (from the Lord of the Ring trilogy.) Chris will be talking about creating the concept art for the film - from the general feel to costumes and weaponry; and also the graphic novel that he did to accompany it.

The 2006 WAVE Awards were held November 9th.

Congratulations to all the winners.
